Medical Assistant/LPN – Endocrinology (Langston Hughes)

About the role

The Medical Assistant/LPN will work primarily at the Langston Hughes location, supporting Endocrinology, Internal Medicine, Wellness, and Adult Psychiatry service lines. The role involves both pediatric and adult patient care on a 9:30 am‑6:00 pm schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with screenings, treatments, specimen collection, and documentation of patient care.
• Monitor patient conditions, communicate changes, and maintain equipment and exam areas.
• Perform administrative duties such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
• For LPNs: provide patient care under RN/physician direction, complete nursing assessments, implement care plans, observe medication reactions, and educate patients and families.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved Medical Assisting program or military medical training (HM, 68W, 4N0X1) with clinical externship or extensive experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (must be obtained during new‑hire period if not already held).
• For LPNs: graduation from an approved Practical Nursing school, current Ohio LPN license, and BLS certification.
• Preferred: Medical Assisting certification, Cleveland Clinic externship completion, at least one year of patient‑care experience, and prior pediatric or family‑medicine exposure.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Medical assisting techniques and documentation.
• LPN clinical competencies, including nursing assessments and medication administration.
