Medical Assistant – Pediatric Outpatient Clinic

About the role

The Medical Assistant will support the busy pediatric outpatient clinic on Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus, providing clinical and administrative assistance to ensure a welcoming environment for patients, families, and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with health screenings, specimen collection, medication updates, and documentation of patient care.
• Monitor patient conditions, communicate changes to providers, and administer specific medications under provider direction.
• Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and medical supplies; ensure cleanliness and readiness.
• Perform clerical duties such as patient registration, scheduling, data entry, and reception tasks.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved Medical Assisting program or equivalent military medical training.
• Completion of a clinical externship or extensive clinical experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross) obtained by hire.
• Preferred: Medical Assisting certification and pediatric experience.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Medical Assisting certification or equivalent training.
