Medical Assistant – General Pediatrics

About the role

The Medical Assistant will support the General Pediatrics outpatient clinic on Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus. Working Monday‑through‑Friday, you will help deliver world‑class care to infants, children, and adolescents while collaborating with a dedicated pediatric team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with screenings, health maintenance updates, medication changes, and allergy documentation.
• Collect specimens, perform basic tests, and record patient care information.
• Monitor patient condition and communicate changes to the care team.
• Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and medical supplies.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved medical assisting program or equivalent military training (Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic, or Medical Service Technician).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or obtain during hire period).
• Completion of a clinical externship or extensive clinical experience.

Required skills

• Medical Assisting certification (preferred).
• Successful completion of a Cleveland Clinic externship (preferred).
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and lift light loads.
• Manual dexterity to operate office and medical equipment.
