Medical Assistant – Full Time at Brees Family Center

About the role

This full‑time Medical Assistant position supports patients and providers at the Brees Family Center, delivering individualized care under the supervision of a licensed health‑care provider. The role involves direct patient interaction, documentation, and coordination to ensure smooth visits.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare patients and providers for each visit, ensuring all necessary information and equipment are ready.
• Answer patient questions, provide excellent service in person and over the phone, and complete registration and documentation.
• Maintain clinical knowledge, technical skills, and credentials through ongoing professional development.
• Follow Department of Transportation workplace drug and alcohol testing procedures when applicable.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED (preferred completion of a formal medical assistant training program).
• Experience handling confidential information in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications for documenting medical information.
• Effective verbal and written communication to present information clearly to patients and staff.
