Mechanical Maintenance Technician – $40.18/hr Starting Pay

About the role

Join Nestlé’s largest U.S. pet‑food manufacturing plant in Davenport, a historic facility that now produces iconic brands such as Dog Chow®, Purina ONE® and Friskies®. As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician you will ensure the reliability of critical mechanical equipment, support process improvements and uphold plant sanitation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on gear reducers, belt and screw conveyors, chain elevators and packaging machinery.
• Maintain wastewater systems, boiler operations, cooling towers and general building infrastructure.
• Use hand tools, lifts, threaders, benders, drills and welding equipment to repair and adjust equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical issues with multimeters, megohmmeters and process simulators.
• Work all shifts while adhering to strict safety protocols.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, technical or military environment.
• Willingness to work any shift as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools, lifts, threaders, benders, drills and welding equipment.
• Ability to operate test equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters and process simulators.
• Experience repairing gear reducers, conveyors, chain elevators and packaging equipment.
