Engineer, Motor Grader Engine Application / Drivetrain

About the role

John Deere is seeking an Engineer focused on Motor Grader Engine Application and Drivetrain to join the Construction & Forestry Division in Davenport, IA. You will help update product designs, coordinate testing and analysis, and support the product line in achieving quality and cost‑reduction goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to identify root causes, contain, and resolve issues across the Motor Grader product family.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional module teams to develop solutions for production issues in both factory and field environments.
• Drive projects that improve product quality and reduce cost.
• Work with internal and external suppliers to enhance quality and durability of current products.
• Offer technical support to marketing, product support, manufacturing, quality, and supply‑management teams, including global manufacturing locations.
• Travel occasionally to field machines for root‑cause investigations and solution verification.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Engineering experience gained through internships, co‑ops, or project work.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills and effective collaboration with peers, suppliers, and functional areas.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D modeling tools such as Creo and SolidWorks.
