Mechanical Instructor

About the role

Certus, through its TPC Training division, seeks a Mechanical Instructor to deliver hands‑on and lecture‑based training to technicians and maintenance workers. The role involves teaching 2‑25 students per class, covering both mechanical and electrical topics, and requires travel to various training sites.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical training to 2‑25 students in classroom settings, combining hands‑on and lecture formats.
• Cover mechanical subjects such as pump repair, hydraulics troubleshooting, and mechanical fundamentals, as well as electrical subjects including basic electricity, electrical troubleshooting, and diagram reading.
• Travel regularly to scheduled training events across commercial, residential, and production environments.
• Utilize MS Office tools (PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Excel) and the Zoom platform to prepare and present instructional materials.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of field experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician or Skilled Trades Trainer.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for delivering technical content.
• Customer‑service mindset with a passion for sharing knowledge.
• Willingness to travel regularly and ability to lift training equipment up to 90 lb.
• Associate degree or higher, or relevant license/certification in the discipline.
