About the role

Reflect Orbital is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern who will work on the design, development, analysis, manufacturing, and testing of novel spacecraft components. The internship offers full responsibility comparable to full‑time team members and requires a minimum 12‑week on‑site commitment at the Hawthorne, CA office.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the design, development, analysis, manufacturing, and testing of novel spacecraft components.
  • Build complete tools and testing setups, ensuring they are fully completed and shipped.
  • Prototype and iterate rapidly to meet project goals.

Required profile

  • Comfortable tackling challenges with no known solution and willing to work hands‑on.
  • Capable of working independently while knowing when to seek guidance.
  • Open to unconventional backgrounds and eager to contribute to a fast‑moving team.

Required skills

  • Experience with mechanical design, development, analysis, manufacturing, and testing.
  • Ability to build tools, testing setups, and rapid prototypes.
