About the role
Join FHP Manufacturing’s engineering team in Fort Lauderdale as a Mechanical Engineering Intern. You will support the development and testing of geothermal and water‑source heat pump products, gaining hands‑on experience in HVAC engineering.
Key responsibilities
- Assist engineers in creating test plans for unit rating, qualification, and reliability testing.
- Support execution of testing activities and document results.
- Help with product design tasks, including drafting detail and assembly drawings.
- Identify and propose solutions for design issues that affect production or operation.
- Perform basic mechanical design calculations and prototype modifications.
Required profile
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Required skills
- Basic knowledge of CAD software (NX, Pro‑E, AutoCAD or similar).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Hands‑on fabrication skills such as cutting, forming, brazing, and welding.
- Ability to perform mechanical design calculations.
