Mechanical Engineer, Hardware Integration

About the role

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the integration and packaging of mechanical, electrical, and sensing subsystems for autonomous surface vessels. You will translate system designs into manufacturable, serviceable hardware that operates reliably in harsh maritime environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical integration solutions for electronics, sensors, and payloads.
• Own physical layout and packaging of components within the vehicle.
• Define mounting strategies, structural interfaces, and access panels.
• Develop cable routing and harness management in collaboration with electrical engineers.
• Ensure manufacturability, serviceability, and reliability of integrated systems.
• Create 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and integration documentation.
• Perform tolerance analysis and support testing activities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and support prototype builds and troubleshooting.
• Drive design‑for‑manufacturing decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience integrating mechanical and electrical systems.
• Hands‑on experience with hardware packaging and subsystem integration.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and strong mechanical design fundamentals.
• Experience working in prototype or production environments.
