Mechanical Engineer – Gas Turbine Instrumentation & Actuation

Join Siemens Energy’s 8000H Product Development team to shape the future of power generation. You will lead engineering support for R&D programs, service projects, and the operational fleet of advanced gas turbines, driving cross‑platform initiatives and strategic supplier partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering support for R&D, service, and fleet projects across the advanced gas turbine portfolio.
• Own core engine instrumentation, IGV/VGV actuation systems, and engine configuration management.
• Partner with product development, fleet support, and service organizations to solve complex technical challenges.
• Conduct root‑cause investigations, resolve critical issues, and implement mitigation strategies to improve fleet reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and service teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and supporting innovation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8‑10+ years of gas‑turbine engineering experience with deep expertise in core engine instrumentation.
• Proven track record leading R&D programs, supplier qualification, and complex technical projects within ISO‑aligned quality frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience across the full product lifecycle, from development to commissioning and risk management.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer‑sponsored visa; U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee required.
