Mascot Coach

About the role

The University of Arkansas is seeking a dedicated Mascot Coach to lead the Razorback mascot program. This role involves coaching, training, recruiting, and managing the mascot team while representing the university at athletic events and community functions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and conduct weekly practices, team meetings, and team‑building exercises for mascot members.
• Recruit, train, and oversee mascot and spirit squad participants, including organizing tryouts.
• Attend all home football games and assigned basketball, baseball games, pep rallies, and other events where mascots perform.
• Maintain and care for mascot costumes, equipment, and appearance schedules.
• Communicate regularly with team members regarding performance, academics, personal growth, and any emerging needs.
• Collaborate with the Director of Spirit Programs and the Associate Athletics Director of Fan Engagement.

Required profile

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a mascot or spirit‑squad member at the high school, collegiate, or professional level.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of coaching experience.
• Knowledge of mascot safety techniques and guidelines.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel to select away games.
