About the role

The U.S. Marine Corps is recruiting qualified attorneys to serve as active‑duty Judge Advocates. In this position you will provide legal counsel and representation across a broad spectrum of military law, supporting operations worldwide while upholding the Corps’ standards of leadership and physical fitness.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct criminal and civil litigation on behalf of the Marine Corps.
• Advise commanders on international affairs, administrative law, and operational matters.
• Provide legal support for military investigations, courts‑martial, and disciplinary actions.
• Assist in policy development and ensure compliance with federal and military regulations.
• Maintain physical readiness and lead by example as a commissioned officer.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship.
• J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school (or currently pursuing).
• Age under 41 years.
• Ability to meet the Marine Corps physical fitness standards.
