Manufacturing Supervisor – Rotating 7‑on/7‑off Shifts

About the role

3M is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor for its Cottage Grove, MN facility. You will lead a team on a rotating 7‑days‑on/7‑days‑off day/night schedule, ensuring safe and efficient production while handling hazardous waste responsibly.

Key responsibilities

• Guide personnel to achieve safe handling and disposal of hazardous waste.
• Cultivate a cross‑trained, innovative team through coaching, feedback, and conflict resolution.
• Schedule work priorities, coordinate maintenance, allocate assignments, and monitor workflow.
• Train employees on all operational processes and ensure they have the proper tools and information.
• Maintain a safe work environment by reviewing OSHA requirements, conducting housekeeping audits, and performing job safety analyses.
• Resolve process, equipment, and technical problems using available resources.
• Monitor equipment downtime, stay within safe operating limits, and generate work requests and incident reports.
• Analyze statistical data to identify trends and develop improvement plans.
• Communicate safety, productivity, quality, and maintenance concerns to appropriate staff.
• Handle shift administrative tasks such as time reporting, attendance control, and vacation planning.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising manufacturing operations.
• Ability to work rotating day and night shifts.
• Strong focus on safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Effective communication and coaching skills.
