Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development and optimisation of production processes for autonomous surface vessels. The role is based in Austin and works closely with design, engineering and supply‑chain teams to deliver high‑quality maritime platforms for defence customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise manufacturing processes for autonomous surface vessels, applying lean manufacturing principles.
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to integrate specifications into production workflows.
• Source, qualify and manage materials and components from suppliers.
• Establish and maintain quality control measures, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives and stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Create and maintain comprehensive process documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide training and support to production personnel and troubleshoot production issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree a plus).
• Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, especially with complex electromechanical systems.
• Familiarity with autonomous systems, robotics or maritime technologies is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous‑improvement methodologies.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations for autonomous maritime systems.
