Mandarin to English Video-Remote Interpreter

About the role

KonnectCX is looking for experienced OPI/VRI interpreters to join its team. You will help people with limited English proficiency communicate accurately and professionally with service providers, working remotely. The position is open to candidates with a strong background in over-the-phone or video remote interpreting.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accurate, professional and culturally appropriate interpretation by phone or video.
• Handle a range of subjects, including medical, legal and customer service scenarios.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow ethical standards in every session.
• Manage sessions so that communication and understanding are clear.
• Stay up to date with industry terminology and best practices.
• Document sessions as required, keeping clear and organized records.

Required profile

• At least 6 months of professional experience as an OPI/VRI interpreter.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin, with a strong grasp of grammar and vocabulary in both.
• A reliable computer and a stable internet connection.
• Familiarity with interpretation protocols, ethics and confidentiality standards.
• Nice to have: certification such as CCHI or RID, and proficiency with interpretation platforms and virtual communication tools.

Working conditions

• Remote position, two days off per week.
• Schedules based on US EST/EDT time.
• Performance bonus available.
