Manager Trainee - Operational Strength Program

About the role

Avis Budget Group is recruiting a Manager Trainee for its Operational Strength Program (OSP), starting January 2027. The program is a 12-month, full-time, immersive career-launching journey for high-potential leaders who want to become Operations Managers. It combines structured learning, functional rotations and hands-on experience with a cohort of peers from across the country, and includes mentorship from senior leaders.

The program is based at the Multi-Modal Facility at Chicago O'Hare International Airport. Relocation to any location nationwide, at the company's discretion, after the initial eight-week training, is an essential requirement and a mandatory condition of participation.

Key responsibilities

• Rotate through key operational functions while receiving personalized mentorship
• Apply new skills daily through hands-on experience in operations, customer service, logistics and team leadership
• Build the skills to drive team performance and operational excellence in a fast-paced environment
• Take part in a peer cohort and receive coaching and support from senior leaders

Required profile

• 2- or 4-year college degree OR 4 years of military service
• Ability and willingness to relocate anywhere in the United States
• Experience as a team member or team leader (e.g., sports, clubs, military)
• Valid driver's license and authorization to work in the United States
• Regular, on-site presence; the role is not remote
• Extra points for at least one year of customer service experience with a strong work ethic
