About the role

ClickUp is building an AI‑native workspace that unifies tasks, docs, chat, calendar, and enterprise search. The Manager, Software Engineering – Infrastructure will bridge product engineering and platform teams, setting a cloud vision that scales across multiple shards and regions while meeting security and compliance goals.

Key responsibilities

• Drive cost efficiency by migrating data workloads to EKS and self‑hosting services such as OpenSearch.
• Consolidate legacy ALBs into a single EKS‑managed ALB per shard to accelerate deployments.
• Eliminate single points of ownership across Networking, OpenSearch, and Terraform through cross‑training and targeted hiring.
• Establish a recurring alignment cadence with Product, AI, Enterprise, and Security to make infra planning demand‑driven.
• Ship automated shard build‑out via Backstage, reducing manual toil.
• Reduce P0/P1 incidents by hardening ingress patterns and enforcing Terraform policy guardrails.
• Deliver a roadmap covering agent enablement, centralized IaC, and faster deployment rollouts tied to AI and enterprise revenue.
• Grow and retain a senior‑heavy, geographically distributed team across the US, Canada, and Europe.
• Own multi‑million‑dollar AWS spend and contractor oversight with a savings‑pipeline mindset.

Required profile

• Deep AWS mastery (EKS, VPC, TGW, DNS) and large‑scale Terraform experience.
• Proven ability to set 6‑12 month cloud roadmaps linked to business outcomes.
• Strong cross‑team influence with Product, Security, SRE, and DB organizations.
• Application‑level curiosity that goes beyond infrastructure to product behavior.
• People leadership at scale, building senior‑heavy, distributed teams with succession planning.
• Operational rigor with on‑call instincts, incident ownership, and thorough RCA follow‑through.
• Security‑first mindset, verifying all changes before implementation.
• AI and automation mindset, eager to use DevSecOps agents and AI‑assisted IaC migrations.
• 10+ years in infrastructure/platform engineering, including director‑level leadership.
