Manager, Operations Process

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Manager, Operations Process for its Store Support Center. The role develops and executes a strategic plan covering business strategy, policy setting, operational analysis, process improvement, facility planning and capacity planning. It reports to a Director or Senior Manager and includes supervising direct reports.

Key responsibilities

• Implement short- and long-range strategies supporting the functional area's objectives.
• Develop policies and procedures for distribution and warehouse operations, and create documented work-process procedures.
• Develop metric reporting for warehouse and logistics management, including costing, and provide process-improvement analysis, design and implementation.
• Perform ROI analyses and needs assessments to advise leadership on the selection, purchase and installation of material-handling equipment.
• Plan, analyze and reconcile operating and capital budgets.
• Analyze the distribution network, including supply-chain modeling and design, and plan capacity for facilities, equipment and staff to meet growth goals.
• Implement strategic initiatives and tactical plans, and provide tactical operational support to field operations (distribution centers).

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Education: bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field; MBA preferred.
• Experience: 5 years preferred; no minimum required.
• Preferred: experience with new DC setups and layouts, strong analytics in a distribution center or logistics environment, familiarity with Six Sigma.
• Travel: typically 5% to 20% overnight; mostly indoor work, occasional lifting of light items.

Required skills

• Supply chain management with an emphasis on distribution.
• Systems understanding including relational databases, extraction tools, MS Office (Excel, Access) and CAD/CAM software.
• Strong analytical skills, time management and communication at all levels.
• Ability to supervise, develop and motivate a team.
