Manager of Retirement Services

About the role

The Manager of Retirement Services will lead Northwest's retirement plan business, focusing on sales growth, client acquisition, and assets under administration. This senior position oversees plan administration, compliance, and team development while collaborating with Trust and Financial Advisor teams.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor vendor and administrator performance to ensure high service levels.
• Direct and guide staff and plan sponsors on plan documents and regulatory requirements (DOL, ERISA, IRS).
• Oversee retirement plan budgets, forecasts, and long‑term strategy development.
• Develop and monitor compliance activities, working with the Employee Benefit Compliance Specialist.
• Lead the Retirement Plan Consultants and Administrative team, managing workflow and project invoicing.
• Identify and resolve employee and customer questions, and cultivate referrals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
• 8‑12 years of employee benefit and pension plan administration experience.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and decision‑making skills.
• Experience supervising staff and managing departmental budgets.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• In‑depth knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and retirement plan documents (401(k), 403(b), 457, defined benefit).
