Maintenance Technician – Westmont Commons

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Westmont Commons, a 252‑unit garden‑style community in Asheville, North Carolina. This full‑time position works Monday‑Friday, 8 am‑5 pm with a rotating on‑call schedule, ensuring the property’s physical assets remain clean, safe and fully functional.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders generated from resident service requests and perform preventative maintenance across the property.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues in accordance with company policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process to prepare vacant apartments for new move‑ins, including repairs, painting, and fixture installation.
• Conduct routine inspections of common areas, amenities and grounds to identify and address potential issues.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, coordinate with external vendors when needed, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience in residential property maintenance or a similar hands‑on technical role.
• Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings and work orders.
• Strong communication skills and reliable transportation for on‑site duties.
• Willingness to participate in rotating on‑call rotations.
