Maintenance Technician – The Silva

About the role

The Maintenance Technician for The Silva property ensures that all building systems, grounds, amenities and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety and functionality. This hands‑on role involves responding to resident requests, performing preventive maintenance and preparing vacant units for new occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders generated from resident service requests and conduct preventive maintenance by diagnosing defects and performing repairs in line with policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, track usage, return unused items and notify the supervisor of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds, common areas and amenities through trash removal, pressure‑washing, general cleaning and painting of curbs and signage.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible and using materials efficiently.
• Participate in safety and risk‑management meetings and adhere to Greystar’s safety policies.

Required profile

• Experience performing technical and mechanical work in a property‑maintenance environment.
• Ability to diagnose issues, follow established procedures and complete documentation accurately.
• Familiarity with inventory tracking and vendor coordination.
• Willingness to comply with safety and risk‑management policies.
