Maintenance Technician – Sign-On Incentive

About the role

The Facilities Management Division of Orange County Government is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the Corrections Complex. This full‑time position involves a variety of hands‑on tasks to keep buildings and systems operating safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on building structures, mechanical equipment, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Execute painting, carpentry, drywall, and minor electrical work as needed.
• Use tools, test and calibration equipment to diagnose issues and restore equipment to proper operation.
• Modify or replace components, consult with specialized trades, and document work performed.
• Respond to daily operational needs with multi‑trade assignments and complete any related tasks assigned by the District Maintenance Supervisor.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in special maintenance, service, or repair tasks covering plumbing, electrical, or related trades.
• Ability to work safely, follow procedures, and deliver quality results.
