Maintenance Technician – Hiring Event 9/23/2026

About the role

Greystar is seeking Maintenance Technicians to join a hiring event on September 23, 2026 in Charlottesville, VA. The role involves performing technical and mechanical work to keep buildings, grounds, and common areas safe, functional, and presentable.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders and preventative maintenance by diagnosing issues and repairing them according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final quality checks.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly for tracking purposes.
• Assist with grounds and amenity upkeep such as trash removal, pressure‑washing, general cleaning, and painting.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever possible.

Required profile

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and respond to on‑call duties.
• Physical capability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, lift up to 25 lb independently (50 lb with assistance) and work in all weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a golf cart on the property when required.
• Compliance with Greystar safety policies, including OSHA training and incident reporting.

Required skills

• EPA Type 1 refrigerant certification.
• EPA Type 2 refrigerant certification.
• EPA Universal refrigerant certification.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to operate a golf cart.
