Maintenance Technician – Avana Property

About the role

The Maintenance Technician supports the physical condition of Avana’s Minnetonka property, ensuring buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for safety, appearance and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Complete resident‑initiated work orders and preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and performing repairs in line with safety codes and company policies.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, repairs and final inspections.
• Manage inventory by retrieving, tracking and returning tools, supplies and equipment, and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing debris, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning, and painting curbs or signage as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible and using materials efficiently.

Required profile

• Ability to diagnose mechanical and building defects and perform repairs safely.
• Experience with make‑ready procedures and coordinating vendors or contractors.
• Strong organizational skills for inventory management and documentation.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks such as cleaning, pressure‑washing and painting.
• Commitment to follow Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies.
