Maintenance Mechanic – Weekend Day Shift (Fri–Sun, 6am–6pm)

About the role

The Maintenance Mechanic will work at 3M's Rockland, MA plant site on a weekend day shift (Friday‑Sunday, 6 am‑6 pm). You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and collaborate with innovative colleagues worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on production and facility equipment following standard procedures and PM job plans.
• Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and align mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components such as bearings, gearboxes, shafts, couplings, brakes, valves, cylinders, and pumps.
• Troubleshoot AC and DC electrical equipment, including variable frequency drives, contactors, relays, motor starters, circuit breakers, transformers, solenoids, controllers, and sensors.
• Execute work safely and efficiently, either independently or as part of a team, while adhering to company safety and quality policies.
• Communicate accurately with staff at all levels using electronic, written, and verbal methods.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED or higher (verified prior to start).
• Minimum two (2) years of industrial maintenance experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Successful completion of 3M‑selected testing as part of the selection process.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting drawings/schematics.
• Using test devices for diagnostic purposes.
• Troubleshooting and repairing control components.
• Operating a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to report work completion.
