Maintenance Mechanic

About the role

The Maintenance Mechanic ensures production and quality by keeping machinery and mechanical equipment operating smoothly. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot failures, and support plant uptime.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, water and conveyor systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical malfunctions using diagrams, manuals, and precision measuring tools.
• Dismantle and replace defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools.
• Inspect parts with calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments to verify dimensional requirements.
• Fabricate repair parts in the machine shop and complete welding tasks as needed.
• Operate overhead cranes and mobile equipment safely while following all safety regulations.
• Maintain inventories of parts and supplies, record service data, and prepare maintenance reports.
• Collaborate with electricians, contractors and apprentices to minimize downtime.

Required profile

• Experience with mechanical equipment maintenance in an industrial environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and technical drawings.
• Willingness to work at heights and in elevated areas safely.
• Commitment to documenting work, communicating issues and following environmental policies.
