Machinist I – Precision CNC Manufacturing

About the role

Moog is seeking a skilled Machinist I to produce high‑precision components for mission‑critical aerospace programs such as the F‑35, MQ‑25 and FLRAA. The role is onsite in Buffalo, NY and offers a $3,500 sign‑on bonus for qualified candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes with milling capabilities to produce parts to tight tolerances and fine finishes.
• Inspect finished work, adjust gaging equipment, and identify any deviations from blueprints or operation sheets.
• Interpret complex GD&T drawings, sketches and work instructions.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED preferred; ability to understand written and computer work instructions in English.
• At least 1 year of general machining experience or graduation from a formal machining/CNC certification program.
• Eligibility to enroll in Moog’s FAA Drug & Alcohol Program as required by FAA safety‑sensitive regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CNC lathe and milling machines.
• Familiarity with measuring equipment such as micrometers and dial bore gauges.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T specifications.
