LPN Ambulatory/Medical Assistant - Internal Medicine

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Main Campus is seeking an LPN Ambulatory/Medical Assistant to join the Internal Medicine team. The role supports adult patients across a range of health conditions, providing both clinical and administrative assistance during a 9:00 am‑6:00 pm shift.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with screenings, treatments, specimen collection, and documentation of patient care.
• Monitor patient condition changes and communicate updates to the care team.
• Maintain equipment, medical supplies, and examination areas.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
• For LPNs: provide patient care under RN/physician direction, complete nursing assessments, implement care plans, administer medications, observe for adverse reactions, perform routine lab tests, and educate patients and families.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved medical assisting program or military medical training (Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic, Medical Service Technician).
• Completion of a clinical externship or extensive clinical experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained during new‑hire period if not already held).
• For LPNs: Ohio LPN license and graduation from an approved Practical Nursing school.
