Logistics Manager

About the role

Alphagary is hiring a Logistics Manager in Leominster, MA, for Orbia Polymer Solutions. The role manages the transportation of finished goods to domestic and international customers within time and cost guidelines, covering delivery timeliness, shipping cost control and carrier selection, as well as receiving raw materials, warehouse management and inventory accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain shipping schedules within budget, and keep shipping and finished goods stock records accurate
• Ensure on-time delivery, manage customer complaints and make sure carriers meet state and federal requirements for domestic and international shipments
• Keep intercompany shipments timely and cost-effective and move raw materials from outside warehouses to keep production supplied
• Manage raw material and finished goods inventory, including daily cycle counts, and resolve inventory accuracy issues
• Train and develop direct reports, ensure safety, health and performance standards, and comply with safety programs such as HazCom and OSHA
• Maintain communication between Shipping, Production, Quality and Customer Service, and keep housekeeping and safety standards high

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Business Administration or Transportation Management
• 5 years of experience in logistics/warehouse management in a manufacturing environment
• Prior management experience in a 3PL offsite warehouse
• Experience with internal and external audits
• Knowledge of US and international shipping and receiving processes, including bulk tankers and rail cars; DOT knowledge preferred
