Logistics Coordinator

About the role

Expeditors is looking for a Logistics Coordinator to support daily warehouse and transportation operations in the San Francisco Bay Area. The role emphasizes safety, compliance, and efficient coordination of local and domestic truck shipments while maintaining strong relationships with service providers and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all vendor safety practices are followed and advise supervisors of any safety concerns.
• Work closely with the shift lead to maintain smooth daily and weekly operations, discussing any plan inconsistencies with supervisors.
• Promote adherence to Expeditors’ cultural attributes and company policies with integrity and pride.
• Arrange local and domestic truck shipments with approved service providers, meeting customer service standards.
• Maintain good relationships with suppliers and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
• Identify and implement best practices to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
• Meet KPI standards, respond promptly to internal and external communications, and escalate issues when necessary.
• Optimize pickups and deliveries using dedicated assets and local vendor resources to achieve the lowest cost model.
• Apply in‑market knowledge of traffic patterns and industrial parks in the San Francisco Bay Area to cost out local moves.

Required profile

• Strong focus on safety and ability to instruct others on proper safety practices.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with service providers, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Ability to multitask, solve problems quickly, and respond to escalations.
• Knowledge of local traffic patterns and industrial areas in the Bay Area.
• Commitment to following company policies, cultural attributes, and regulatory compliance.
