Director, Transportation

About the role

Habitat Health is seeking a Director of Transportation to lead the strategic planning, management, and oversight of all transportation services for PACE participants. The role ensures safe, reliable, timely, and cost‑effective transport that supports access to medical care and social services while complying with federal, state, and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and scale a transportation program aligned with PACE goals, including model design and software management.
• Oversee daily operations such as scheduling, routing, dispatch, and vendor coordination.
• Optimize routing and scheduling to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
• Manage contracts, internal fleet acquisition, maintenance, and lifecycle planning.
• Lead, mentor, and manage transportation staff.
• Ensure compliance with CMS, state health departments, and DOT regulations.
• Monitor the transportation budget, track performance metrics, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Negotiate and evaluate third‑party vendor agreements as needed.
• Provide occasional evening, weekend, or on‑call support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Significant experience managing transportation operations, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state transportation and healthcare regulations.
• Proven leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Analytical mindset with experience tracking key performance indicators.
