Linux System Administrator (TS/SCI)

About the role

MANTECH, a provider of technology solutions to government intelligence agencies since 1968, is hiring a Linux System Administrator for its Enterprise Infrastructure Services organization in Laurel, MD. The role supports the Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) backbone platform, delivering data center and compute capabilities across non-standard enclaves in partnership with customers, Integrated Product Teams and vendors. The position is full time, on site Monday to Friday, with core hours 10:00-14:00 and on-call participation.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and resolve problems with server hardware, applications and operating systems across Linux, Windows 10/11 and Windows Server environments.
• Use Ansible, Puppet and SaltStack to enforce consistent configurations across hybrid infrastructure.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain network components, systems and OS enhancements.
• Provide day-to-day operational support, proactive monitoring and incident resolution for client, server and network devices.
• Manage Omnissa Horizon (VMware Horizon) VDI and application virtualization environments.
• Administer NetApp storage systems, support patching lifecycles and resolve hardware and system issues.
• Deliver help desk and end-user support in person and by phone.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree and 14 years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma and 19 years.
• Demonstrated Linux, Windows 10/11 and Windows Server experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
• Proven VDI and application virtualization experience with Omnissa Horizon (VMware Horizon).
• Active DoD 8140 / IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND, Network+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP) or ability to obtain it within 60 days of hire.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph; must be able to stay seated 50% of the time and move workstations and hardware.
