Licensed Practical Nurse

About the role

AON Oncology is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at its New Way Neurology clinic. The LPN assists physicians and advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) in the care of patients, with a pay range of $20.50 to $30.87.

Key responsibilities

• Assist physicians and APRNs in patient care, including patient assessment and administering shots after a complete symptom assessment.
• Obtain lab samples and perform technical laboratory procedures accurately and on time; send specimens to outside labs according to the patient's insurance plan.
• Maintain test report logs, quality control logs, equipment records and checklists, and perform port access procedures appropriately.
• Document treatment thoroughly and accurately in OncoEMR, prepare superbills and capture charges correctly, and follow the AON ID policy for every patient encounter.
• Educate patients and families about medications, side effects and the planned treatment course, and handle telephone triage calls from patients, hospitals, pharmacies and physician offices.
• Help with inventory and restocking of medical supplies, recommend purchases, and enter patient charges into Nucleus.
• Have working knowledge of dispensing medications via Nucleus and be able to perform a cycle Nucleus count.
• Attend annual Safety/OSHA training and mandatory staff meetings, train new employees, and maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information.
• Work at any AON location as needed and comply with federal and state laws on patient privacy, safety and employment, as well as AON policies and the disaster recovery plan.

Required profile

• Appropriate state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Current CPR and BLS certification.
• Fluency in English and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Valid driver's license in the resident state to travel to clinics.
