Legal Counsel – Renewable Energy Projects

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing global renewable energy developer, is looking for a commercially‑minded Legal Counsel to support its U.S. operations. The attorney will work closely with project teams throughout development, construction, and operation of large‑scale solar and energy infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate EPC agreements, subcontracts, supply agreements, and related construction documents for solar and energy infrastructure projects.
• Provide legal guidance on contractual risk, rights, and obligations during development and construction phases.
• Advise on procurement strategy, change orders, delay and disruption issues, and performance‑related matters.
• Support negotiation and structuring of land agreements, interconnection agreements, and other project‑level contracts.
• Assist with U.S. clean‑energy incentives, including federal tax credits and compliance considerations.
• Collaborate with external counsel, finance teams, and commercial stakeholders on transactions and regulatory matters.
• Track legal and regulatory developments affecting the renewable‑energy sector and provide practical guidance.
• Contribute to internal legal processes, including contract template and workflow development.

Required profile

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 2–7 years of experience in the U.S. renewable‑energy sector, with exposure to solar projects.
• Strong experience drafting and negotiating EPC contracts.
• Commercial mindset with ability to balance legal risk and business objectives.
• Working knowledge of U.S. federal clean‑energy incentives and construction‑related regulatory considerations.
• Clear communicator able to explain complex legal issues to non‑legal audiences.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, project‑based environment.
• Spanish language skills are a plus.
