About the role
Texas A&M University‑San Antonio is seeking a full‑time, non‑tenure‑track Lecturer of English Composition to begin in Fall 2026. The position involves teaching first‑year composition courses to a diverse student body that includes many non‑traditional and first‑generation learners.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver First‑Year Composition courses with a 4/4 teaching load.
- Teach Dual Credit/Early College High School students enrolled in composition courses.
- Utilize instructional technologies such as learning management systems and digital portfolios.
- Potentially teach Integrated Reading and Writing courses.
- Participate in departmental service activities and may take on summer teaching assignments.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in English or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- At least 18 graduate credit hours in English.
- Minimum of one year of college‑level teaching experience.
- Preferred experience teaching composition and a Ph.D. in English or a closely related field.
Required skills
- Proficiency with learning management systems.
- Experience creating and managing digital portfolios.
