About the role
The Leasing Professional coordinates marketing, leasing, and renewal activities to meet occupancy, revenue, and resident‑retention goals for a 699‑unit community. You will guide prospects through tours, applications and move‑in, while ensuring resident satisfaction throughout the lease term.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct tours, qualify prospects, process applications, credit and background checks, and prepare lease packages.
- Inspect and ready apartments for move‑in, coordinating with maintenance as needed.
- Develop and execute short‑ and long‑term marketing plans, including resident referral, employer outreach, and online advertising on platforms such as Craigslist and Facebook.
- Utilize property management software (OneSite, Yardi) to track availability, resident data, and leasing activity.
- Maintain show‑unit standards, manage daily leasing office operations, and respond promptly to resident and owner inquiries.
- Support lease renewal efforts by preparing renewal letters, contacting residents early, and ensuring timely execution of renewal documents.
Required profile
- 1–2 years of leasing experience, preferably in multifamily or affordable housing.
- Strong sales and customer‑service abilities with a proven track record of converting prospects.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a golf cart on the property.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays, and to respond to on‑call needs.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lb independently (50 lb with assistance) and work in all weather conditions.
Required skills
- Proficiency with property management software such as OneSite and Yardi.
- Experience using internet marketing tools (Craigslist, Facebook, email platforms) to generate leasing traffic.
