Learning & Instructional Design Support Specialist I

About the role

The Teaching & Learning Innovation (TLI) team is seeking a dedicated, customer‑service oriented Learning and Instructional Design Support Specialist I to help deliver high‑quality hybrid and online courses for Mays Business School. The role assists faculty with effective use of the Learning Management System (LMS) and integrated instructional technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and just‑in‑time assistance for Canvas and other LMS tools, including gradebook setup, group management, and third‑party integrations.
• Develop, maintain, and update user guides, tutorials, and training materials; conduct scheduled and on‑demand training sessions for faculty.
• Manage assigned projects using project‑management software, documenting progress and delivering workflow documentation.
• Test new applications, integrations, and system configurations to ensure readiness and reliability.
• Collect and summarize student experience and course feedback data to inform continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Two years of experience supporting faculty with an LMS (preferably Canvas) in a higher‑education environment.
• Experience using a ticketing system such as Team Dynamix.
• Familiarity with instructional design principles and online learning environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven setting.
