Learning Center Director – Academic Support Leader

About the role

The Learning Center Director provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for Fresno State’s flagship academic support unit. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Success Services, the role drives data‑informed initiatives that expand reach, improve student outcomes, and align with university strategic priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Learning Center’s integrated model of Supplemental Instruction, Tutoring, and Academic Success Coaching.
• Develop and execute strategic plans, manage budgets, and ensure fiscal stewardship.
• Oversee a large workforce of professional staff, graduate assistants, and student employees.
• Collaborate with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, faculty, and senior leadership to align services with institutional goals.
• Utilize data analytics to evaluate student engagement, learning outcomes, and performance metrics.
• Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead a high‑impact, multi‑modal academic support operation.
• Experience managing large teams and complex, high‑volume services.
• Strong background in strategic planning, program design, and fiscal management.
