Lead Teacher Trainer – Chess Classes

About the role

The Lead Teacher Trainer at Chess Wizards delivers engaging chess lessons to elementary students and supports the development of other instructors. This part‑time position involves classroom teaching, coaching, and occasional travel to schools in the Aurora area.

Key responsibilities

• Lead interactive chess classes for 10‑15 students, ensuring a fun and disciplined environment.
• Assist the Area Manager with coaching visits, quality control, and customer communication.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate other instructors to maintain high instructional standards.
• Complete class evaluation reports and discuss performance with supervisors.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience working with children in teaching, tutoring, coaching, or similar roles.
• Reliable transportation to reach multiple school locations.
• Availability for after‑school hours at least 4 days a week, preferably 5 days during peak semesters.

Required skills

• Strong grasp of chess fundamentals, including piece movement, basic strategy, and simple tactics.
• Ability to explain concepts clearly and age‑appropriately.
