About the role
Lead Remote Operated Surveyor responsible for leading and executing complex offshore surveys from the office‑based remote‑operating control center, providing technical support and mentorship to junior surveyors.
Key responsibilities
- Lead remote monitoring and support for offshore vessels conducting survey tasks, ensuring best practices and project requirements.
- Oversee 12‑hour operational rotations from the shore station, guiding and troubleshooting junior surveyors.
- Operate and optimize PC‑based navigation systems, delivering guidance and quality control to offshore teams.
- Temporarily relocate to alternate sites for operational contingencies or project leadership.
- Serve as primary point of contact for offshore employees, facilitating clear communication and safe work procedures.
- Champion HSE and quality performance, driving compliance and continuous improvement.
- Develop and deliver training for safety and quality requirements.
- Mentor less experienced staff and participate in competency management programs.
- Manage complex job tasks and project deliverables as requested by clients or project managers.
- Oversee care, safety, and deployment of survey equipment on ocean‑going vessels.
Required profile
- 2–3+ years in offshore survey or marine construction (or 5–7+ years as indicated).
- Ability to obtain a TWIC card.
- Computer proficiency.
- Technical degree or university degree preferred.
- Understanding of geomatics, navigation, positioning and acoustic surveying.
- Bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese is desired.
