Installation Lead Tech

About the role

The Installation Lead Tech coordinates back‑deck operations, mentoring and directing foreign‑national personnel to safely move and install equipment on vessels and construction sites.

Key responsibilities

• Select appropriate cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks and sheaves based on load weight and size.
• Coordinate and direct foreign workers and equipment movement to accomplish tasks.
• Set up, inspect, and repair equipment, including lubrication of drums and cables.
• Oversee rigging operations to lift and move materials on the worksite.
• Set up and brace hoisting equipment using hand tools or power wrenches.
• Operate machinery to move construction materials, earth, petroleum products, or other heavy loads.
• Collaborate with Deck Foreman, Vessel Superintendents and clients for all back‑deck activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of rigging experience in ships, shipyards, manufacturing plants or construction projects.
• Ability to train and assist foreign nationals in back‑deck operations.
• High school diploma or GED; ability to obtain rigging and forklift certifications.
• Valid passport, MMC and TWIC credentials.

Required skills

• Rigging and selection of lifting hardware.
• Equipment inspection, repair and lubrication.
• Hoisting equipment setup and bracing.
• Operation of machinery for moving heavy materials.
• Use of hand tools and power wrenches.
• Forklift operation (upon certification).
