Lead Laboratory Technologist - Molecular Microbiology

About the role

The Lead Laboratory Technologist in Molecular Microbiology works night shifts on the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, providing technical leadership, coaching, and ensuring compliance with quality standards in a high‑tech laboratory environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform molecular microbiology testing in compliance with CLIA regulations and maintain regulatory knowledge.
• Document quality control activities, instrument calibrations, and corrective actions.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments according to manufacturer specifications.
• Provide education, orientation, and continuing education for staff, students, and residents.
• Assist with validation/verification of new assays and write technical procedures for review.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological or Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 2–3 years of laboratory training/experience performing non‑waived testing.
• Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification or eligibility for ASCP certification preferred.
