Law Enforcement Officer

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York is seeking dedicated Law Enforcement Officers to protect its historic facilities and 3,000 employees. Officers will work in either Lower Manhattan or East Rutherford, providing 24/7 security for one of the nation’s most influential financial institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct interior and exterior patrols, man visible surveillance posts, and respond to emergencies.
• Inspect and monitor persons, vehicles, and activities entering the facilities; interview unauthorized individuals.
• Operate security screening equipment and control pedestrian and vehicle access.
• Apply de‑escalation techniques and adhere to Federal Law Enforcement protocols.

Required profile

• Commitment to the Federal Reserve’s mission of economic stability.
• Willingness to complete a rigorous ten‑week Basic Law Enforcement Course (BLEC) and subsequent field training.
• Ability to work rotating day, evening, or night tours.
• Residency within commuting distance of New York City or East Rutherford.
