About the role
The State of Georgia is seeking a Lab Assistant to support its Welding & Joining Technology program across multiple campuses. Working under faculty supervision, you will help maintain a safe, well‑stocked laboratory environment while assisting students in hands‑on learning.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and perform routine welding laboratory tasks following detailed procedures.
- Maintain and clean welding equipment and ensure it is ready for use.
- Manage inventory, requisition supplies, and order instructional materials.
- Assist faculty with classroom instruction and supervise students during lab sessions.
- Tutor or mentor students, enforce safety protocols, and perform general lab upkeep.
Required profile
- Successful completion of courses related to welding and joining technology or equivalent hands‑on experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Preferred: Diploma or Associate degree in Welding & Joining Technology or a related field.

What we offer
- $18.00 per contact hour (hourly rate).
- Part‑time, semester‑based temporary contract.
