Kidz City & Forward Academy Director

About the role

The Kidz City & Forward Academy Director reports to the Next Gen Director within the Next Generation / Forward Academy department. It is a full-time, exempt Sunday-to-Friday role combining pastoral leadership with administrative oversight of both weekday academy operations and Sunday ministry experiences. The leader ensures children experience a safe, engaging and spiritual environment while maintaining operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide vision, leadership and direction for all Kidz City and Forward Academy environments, and recruit, train and lead staff and volunteer teams
• Run weekly coordinator meetings and monthly team trainings
• Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, staffing and classroom coverage, and step in to teach when needed
• Manage supply chain, inventory and purchasing of materials, snacks and classroom resources, and keep environments clean, safe and well-equipped
• Oversee age-appropriate curriculum and programming, and create weekly run-of-show schedules for Kidz City
• Work with creative and ministry teams on worship, production and storytelling, and ensure Sunday experiences are engaging and spiritually impactful
• Build strong relationships with families, communicate regularly about each child's progress, coordinate family events and resolve concerns professionally
• Manage the Forward Academy budget, including tuition collection, payroll coordination and purchasing, and support enrollment growth

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a related field, or a bachelor's degree with experience in those fields
• Desired: at least one year of childcare experience
• Knowledge of South Carolina childcare licensing requirements
• CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it
• Clear background check, fingerprinting and required health documentation
