About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Juvenile Probation Parole Specialist II to support the rehabilitation of juvenile offenders in Coweta County. This position provides direct social services to individuals on probation or parole, helping them meet court‑mandated conditions and achieve successful reintegration.

Key responsibilities

• Interview probationers and parolees regularly to assess progress toward rehabilitation goals and compliance with probation contracts.
• Recommend remedial or court action for non‑compliance and initiate appropriate legal proceedings.
• Administer drug and alcohol testing, including random screenings, to verify treatment program adherence.
• Maintain comprehensive case files for each assigned offender.
• Discuss the impact of substance abuse, anger management, and related issues on criminal behavior.
• Conduct pre‑hearing investigations, testify in court, and recommend sentencing conditions.
• Inform offenders of conditional‑release requirements such as office visits, restitution, education, and employment stipulations.
• Prepare progress reports, investigate legal matters, and arrange medical, mental‑health, or substance‑abuse services as needed.
• Supervise community‑based sentences, including electronic monitoring and field checks at homes, workplaces, or schools.

Required profile

• Associate degree in a related field plus two years of relevant human‑services experience, OR four years of direct case‑management experience with offenders, OR two years in a lower‑level Juvenile Probation/Parole Specialist position.
• Must possess and maintain State of Georgia certification appropriate for the role.
