Junior Engineer, Scientist or Technician for EPA Research Projects

About the role

ERG is seeking enthusiastic junior engineers, scientists, and technicians to support research projects for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Research and Development. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in specialized laboratories, field sites, and analytical facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, and testing new processes or experiments under senior guidance.
• Support preparation of technical reports, data analysis, and project documentation.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, calibrate, and repair laboratory and field equipment.
• Execute technical tasks on EPA‑funded projects, including data collection and sample analysis.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop innovative engineering or scientific solutions.
• Follow safety guidelines and ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality assurance plans.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or early‑career professional with a strong technical foundation.
• Highly motivated, able to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
