JROTC Instructor / Officer (Army Instructor)

About the role

The Manteca Unified School District is seeking a qualified JROTC Instructor/Officer to lead the Army JROTC program at Lathrop High School. The successful candidate will mentor cadets, deliver military‑based education, and foster leadership, citizenship, and personal growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver curriculum aligned with Army JROTC standards.
• Plan and supervise daily training, drill, and extracurricular activities.
• Maintain accurate records of cadet performance, attendance, and awards.
• Coordinate with school administration, parents, and community partners.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Retired or separated Non‑Commissioned Officer (E‑6 to E‑9) with at least 8 years of honorable service, or
• Retired or separated Commissioned/Warrant Officer (W‑1 to W‑5, O‑3 to O‑6) with at least 8 years of honorable service, or
• Retired or separated Army National Guard/Reserve member with at least 8 years of service, a current commander’s recommendation, and required retirement points statements.
• Must have separated or retired within the past 5 years.
• Possess a valid Designated Subject ROTC Credential or an approving letter from the U.S. Army.
