Journeyman Millwright Mechanic – Industrial Machinery Installation

About the role

The Journeyman Millwright is responsible for setting and leveling skids, mounting and aligning industrial machinery, and installing vessels and piping systems according to manufacturer specifications. The role supports continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives while maintaining a strong focus on safety, cost control, and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Read micrometers and operate dial indicators for precision measurements.
• Heat and install couplings and hubs confidently.
• Perform soft‑foot pull‑down checks on compressor and engine feet.
• Install and align cooler sheaves and belts.
• Conduct flatness tests on compressor frames using FIXTURLASER XA Pro.
• Measure rod run‑outs, cross‑head clearance, and adjust piston end clearance.
• Install distance‑piece supports and lift according to manufacturer specifications.
• Level compressor cylinders and verify component balance sheets.

Required profile

• 1–5 years of experience reading drawings, mounting and setting reciprocating compressors, engines, or motors.
• Proficiency with coupling alignments using Opt‑align and FIXTURLASER XA Pro.
• Ability to read and apply ENERFLEX standards and technical drawings.
• Solid understanding of gas compressor operation and packaging processes.
• Self‑motivated with a professional attitude and ability to meet deadlines.
